Pine and red cedar describe the wood. Shiplap and tongue-and-groove describe how the boards fit together. Start with the look you want, then confirm the exact pattern and application.

Snider specializes in nominal one-inch Southern Yellow Pine boards, with smooth S4S and patterned options. Its published range includes 1×4 through 1×12 and lengths from 8 to 16 feet. Availability varies by pattern and grade.
An overlapping edge creates the joint between boards. Snider lists shiplap in nominal 1×6 and 1×8, along with nickel-gap siding and a #139 Channel Rustic rough-face shiplap in 1×10 #2. Confirm the reveal and exposed coverage for the selected pattern.
A tongue on one edge fits into the groove of the next board. Snider lists Center Match in 1×6 and 1×8. Its pattern range also includes #122 single-V paneling and #116 double-V in 1×6 and 1×8. Ask to see the exact profile before choosing.
Explore cedar for its distinctive color and natural character. Ask us to confirm the exact cedar species, grade, face texture, dimensions and intended use. The Snider pine specifications on this page do not describe our cedar offerings.
Snider lists #2 and D & Better for S4S and patterns, with other grade availability by item. Its published MC 15 specification is moisture content at or below 15% at manufacture. Jobsite moisture and acclimation still need checking. Heat-treated does not mean pressure-treated.
Nominal width is not installed face coverage. For your selected profile: square feet = linear feet × exposed width in inches ÷ 12. Allow for cuts and waste based on your project layout.
Bring your indoor or outdoor application, wall or ceiling dimensions, desired finish and project schedule. We will confirm the appropriate product, actual dimensions, fasteners, preparation and installation literature before you order.
